SAP Note which previously know as OSS note is a Patch released by SAP to fix bug or Error in the Standard SAP program. SAP will provide the corrections thru SAP Note for customers to implement the
changes, which will resolve the program errors.
SNOTE is the Transaction code used for downloading and
implementing note. We can also download the SAP Note logging into SAP Service Market place Login.

then click on Search for SAP Notes tab, which will takes you to the page where we can enter the SAP Note number to download the snote to your desktop. From this screen you can also search for the SAP Notes with SAP Note number directly or using the search criteria with Program error message, SAP ABAP Dump etc. If you have SAP Note Number enter in the SAP note field and click go to directly download it. or if you don't have the SAP Note # then use the search criteria to find related SAP notes.

Note : - To login to Service market place you have to be authorized by your company and be assigned an OSS ID ( or S ID) and password. OSS ID is also called as S id as the ID starts with Sxxxxxxxxxx.
SAP Notes is not just a patch to fix a Program errors.
There are generally 2 types of SAP Notes 1.Informative Note and
Corrective Note.
Corrective Note is used to fix the Errors/Bug by apply it to our System.
Informative SAP Note contains the information about the SAP Related products or Step by Step Procedure steps for implementing SAP Tasks like Support pack, SAP Installation, Printer Installation, FAQs, SAP Product upgrades, SAP Product modifications, Customizing notes etc or other information.
